Meet the first companion, Elder Madsen:   

Helping out at a youth activity (picture from Sister Terry); We also get to go to the youth activities which was fun, the priests and teachers were doing a coding activity where they had to write sudo code to code the person teaching to go to the gym and make a basketball through the hoop.

From the mission field: "I had two really awesome experiences today, p-day ends at 6pm so we go out talking to people at 6. We met Jared, he had some personal issues, he was a firefighter, so a bunch of mental issues and he fell away from the church a while ago, but he recently started getting back into it and prayed for the first time as a family yesterday and we showed up today, it was really cool (i tried to describe what an awesome spiritual experience it was for us and him and what it felt like but i couldnt), its interesting to see that as someone who's grown up with the church my whole life. We also had a member message with the Ribbles, theyve been trying to get their son (about 20 or so i think) to serve or even think about serving a mission, go out with the missionaries, etc. but haven't had much success, they said he normally goes off somewhere when the missionaries come over too, and he did when we got there, to the basement, his dad called him to make sure he didn't want to come up, and he did, with his girlfriend, they said they were watching Freiren (anime) and we ended up talking about anime for about an hour before we got to the actual message, he had tough questions that he wanted answers to, which we answered pretty well. And by the end he said he would be happy to come out with us for a night (huzzah!) I felt like I didn't participate much in the message, other than partially answering one of his questions, but he said he wouldn't have opened up if we didn't talk about something he could relate to like anime (if that makes sense?) Which made me feel like I participated because my companion had no idea what we were talking about lol, we are communicating a time with him to go out, and we have a lesson set up with Jared on Wednesday, super exciting stuff!"
