20mph Down Hill in the Rain

This week has been interesting to say the least. Jakob did come out, but we were on exchanges so I wasn't there (nooooooo) but we had a message with someone yesterday who's daughter turned out to be the girl dating jakob, so he was outside waiting for her when we left and he said since he missed me he'll have to come out with us again (huzzahhh). We haven't rly found too many people, we are like almost teaching a few people we just need to get sm scheduled, which doesn't help that elder madsen is leaving (hes going down to delta).

The whole thing with Charlie Kirk has been crazy,  I found out about it on Wednesday during exchanges (when I was supposed to be out with jakob) we were knocking and some lady came out and told us, which explained why nobody wanted to talk to us. The next day on Thursday wasn't better, we live with elders that oversee the Jordan river ysa ward and they were just stuck in the house all day bc everyone in the ysa was actually at UVU when it happened, so they were all either depressed or getting interviewed by the police...crazy stuff.

I had another exchange on Saturday and that was a lot of fun, I was with elder augustine, I like him hes fun, I was in his area instead of mine so I followed him around bc I didnt know where I was going xd. We knocked some doors, but only 1 person answered and it was the ward mission leader for his ward, we apparently caught them the second the got back from Disney (not even exaggerating, we saw them pull up as we were walking to their house) he was nice.

After that we went to a chapel and got on a zoom call with a different ward mission leader for a different ward, then our member dinner cancelled but they offered to doordash us something, so we went home and I tried taco bell for the first time(outside of getting a taco from someone once or twice or a taco at dans bday party once), I got a cravings box or sm which had a taco, chalupa (i think thats how you spell it, like a taco with pita bread) and a beef burrito, and an extra classic stacker, both were pretty good, while we were eating a cat came up to our door and we let it in, it roamed around for a bit in the apartment and then came and sat in my lap, super cute, while it was inside during dinner, it started to pour down rain outside, dinner was over so we needed to go knock more doors, and this cat had an airtag on so it would've been problematic to leave it in the apartment, so we had to put it out in the rain (cats name was King Junior btw) i felt rly bad for it, we got on our bikes and went down this hill, extremely fast, like unreasonably fast, like 20 mph down this soaking wet hill while it was dumping down rain outside fast. You can probably guess what happened, 20mph (we have an app on our phones, we were going unreasonably fast down this hill) down a rainy hill + unmatched accident proneness...yeah I braked, slid, and crashed. Fun stuff, ill attach a picture, you can only see my knee in the picture but I got a ton of scratches and bruises on my hip palm and elbow/arm too, my palm was super swollen for a while too. A member saw me sitting in the middle of the road in the rain laughing and was wondering what on earth happened, so they let us in, thats where me and elder augustine are in the picture, they got me bandages and stuff, super nice people, even gave me an entire bottle of hydrogen peroxide to take with me for all the blood on my shirt and whites. Since I was now injured we walked (and limped) back up the hill to the apartment (basement), let the cat back in (which im convinced gave me divine punishment for sticking it out in the rain, I mean cats were worshiped as gods in egypt and we just stuck it outside? Lol.) And sat around like a sack of potatoes for the rest of the night.

From Nick Hansen (Silver Lake Stake): We just had your son in our home. A great young man! We are grateful for his service! Oh and on a side note, he just threw down a huge bowl of dark chocolate ice cream. I didn't want to portion control him so I made it extra gargantuous, but he handled it like a champ! Dad would be proud
